Rachel Carson was one of the most famous environmentalists of the 1960s. He was the first to report some important results after chemicals were ingested by wild animals, especially birds. In the quiet spring, Carson wrote on DDT, a pesticide commonly used in human agriculture. Carson found that birds were more likely to lay eggs after eating contaminated insects.
Because the consumption of contaminated food (in bimagnification and bioaccumulation) can lead to problems such as cancer, neurological dysfunction, altered hormone levels, and so on, these chemicals can affect human health as well as human health. The most recent example is dangerously high levels of mercury in fish, which can affect human sex hormones.
Efforts to repair the damage caused by slowly degrading biodegradable plastics, detergents, metals, and other human-made materials, as well as the economic burden of these damage, have become a common topic of concern for plastics degradation.
